   Curriculum

The main language of the School is English.

Great emphasis is placed on Modern Greek and students are able to acquire a very good oral and written command of the language and its literature. German and French are the other languages taught. Students of Form 2 must opt for one of the two languages and take the IGCSE. They can then opt to continue studies in their preferred language at A-level.

Within all subjects, apart from acquiring subject knowledge, students are guided to develop a wide range of transferable skills appropriate to their external examination courses, further education and a wide range of careers.

The relatively small number of students admitted to the School allows for continuous and close supervision of each individual.

Forms 1, 2 and 3

A system of broad education is offered in Forms 1, 2 and 3, where a great range of subjects is taught: English, Modern Greek, Mathematics, General Science, Computing, History, Geography, German or French, Art & Design, Religious Studies, Music, P.E. & Games.

Great emphasis is placed on computer practical applications. All students of Forms 1, 2 and 3 are required to take the 7 Modules of the European Computer Driving Licence Examinations (ECDL). These Modules are: Windows, Word, Excel, Internet, Power Point, Access and Theory.

In Form 1 all subjects are taught mainly in English, with the exception of Religious Studies and History which are taught in Greek. From Form 2 onwards, lessons are conducted in English, with the exception of Religious Studies. Students of Form 3 are required to make a very significant decision regarding the selection of IGCSE subjects which they will be following over the two following years.

Forms 4 and 5

The curriculum becomes more specialized in Forms 4 and 5, by which time students have started considering their future goals. All students must take English Language, Modern Greek, Mathematics and PE and Games, and opt for four additional subjects (see table below).
