On September 30 th, 2005 an exceptional event was prepared and coordinated by Mrs Yiota Yerontidou of the Greek Department in order to commemorate Cyprus ’ declaration of Independence forty-five years ago. The celebration was competently presented by the President of the Student Council, Andria Hadjipanteli. Poetry recitals as well as songs were splendidly recited and performed by students of the 4 th, 5 th, 6 th and 7 th Forms. Special merit must also be given to Ms. Aliki Constantinidou who adeptly taught the songs to the students for this celebration.
