20.10.2005 This year The Interact Club is focusing the best part of its efforts and attentiveness on a noteworthy cause, entitled: Get a Life. Get a Life is a campaign which will deliberate over the choices and alternatives our youth have in today’s world concerning matters which have an immediate impact on them, such as, smoking and drugs. Besides deliberating upon these detrimental habits, the campaign will be brainstorming different options available to our youth of today. Members will dedicate themselves to the genuine experience of “living” by experiencing and becoming aware of what is around them, more specifically, people in need.
Some of the actions which will be taking place throughout the year include adopting a child through Actionaid, socializing with children with special needs through sports activities, visiting an old people’s home and visiting the Central Prisons, as well as fund-raising activities. Members of the Society will also produce video clips with Anti-Smoking themes. Through these activities we are hoping that the students will grasp the importance of compassion and goodwill and recognize the magnitude of their own abilities to aid and to give support to the underprivileged as well as to avoid the pitfalls faced by our youth. |
