On 14th November 2005 a Press Conference was organised at the Hilton Park to officially announce the establishment of The Stelios Hadjipetris Foundation which was formed in memory of the founder of the G C School of Careers. The Foundation, governed by a Board of Trustees, is an independent, non-profit institution committed to advancing the quality of education in Cyprus. In addition, the Foundation organizes lectures on topics of interest to students, teachers and parents on educational policy, on the innovative use of technologies, on overcoming learning disabilities, while also serving as a link between the community and the G C School of Careers.

The foundation as an idea was conceived about two years ago. Mrs. Maroula Hadjipetri and Mr. Emilios Hadjipetris wanted to honour the memory of the late Stelios Hadjipetris by ensuring that his contribution to the community will be continued by his close friends and family. Stelios was always active in public affairs and especially cared about education and culture in general; the “G C School of Careers” being the best example.
