AIM : to give a greater insight into science and its application for the benefit of all mankind

RECOGNITION:
The LIYSF is highly recognized by many scientific and educational institutions worldwide. The Prime Minister of the U.K. , Mr. Tony Blair stated the following when addressing the participants: “It is also encouraging to see that the Forum brings together an international community. I understand that there were 250 students from more than 50 countries and this can only be a good indication of the value participants place on participation. The global nature of scientific effort means that it is now as much collaborative as it is competitive. I encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity not only to enhance your knowledge of an interest in science and technology, but to have some fun and learn about each other, your diverse languages, countries and experience, through this celebration of our shared scientific culture.”

THE G C SCHOOL PARTICIPATION:
In the last 2 years, five students of our school attended the LIYSF, out of whom four were fully subsidized by the school. One of them commented: “ My participating in LIYSF has, admittedly, been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life not only because it has been an opportunity to broaden the horizons of my scientific perception (I mean, did you know that some objects may be in 2.489 dimensions and are you able to calculate that?) but, also, an opportunity to broaden the horizons of my social perception by interacting with all these young people of different educational and cultural backgrounds.” Maro Vanezi G.C.
