The G C School of Careers Scientists
at the 9th Pancyprian Technology in Education Competition

Form 4 and 7 students of our School participated in the 9 th Pancyprian Technology in Education Competition on 8 th May 2007 at Larnaca, organised by The Ministry of Education and Culture and Cyprus Institute of Technology.

The first Pancyprian Prize for Lyceum in the competition went to the Experimental Rocketry and Model Construction project designed, developed and built by three 7 th form students of our school. Stelios Kyprou, Haris Flouris and Stelios Charalambous were presented with the winners' cup, trophy and a cheque for £400 at a ceremony at Vergina Lyceum, Larnaca on 9 th May 2007.

Various speakers during the event stressed the fact that the judges were looking for “thinkers” with innovative ideas. Cyprus needs to move forward in technology and it is only possible with thinkers prepared to challenge existing systems and accepted ways of doing things.

We congratulate our students and we challenge other students, next year, to build upon the high reputation gained for our School by our winners.
