   Societies

The GCS clubs provide students with opportunities to be involved in extracurricular activities they are interested in.

The members of the Music Society are given ample opportunity to perform or just enjoy. The Young Volunteers are involved in a wide range of fund-raising activities. The Art & Jewellery-making Club and the Ceramics Club encourage their members to use their talents and creativity under the guidance of experts. Budding reporters learn the secrets of producing the School newspaper, The Informer ; they are offered the opportunity to acquire special skills in reporting and interviewing and gain valuable experiences. In addition, The Novice , the School Year Book , is published with the valuable contribution of students.

The Photographic Club introduces its young members to the secrets of photography; these are the people who contribute towards enriching the School photographic archives and supplying The Informer and Novice with all the pictures that are published. They also set up exhibitions. The Current Affairs Club challenges enquiring minds through visits, lectures and discussions on controversial issues.

The Dance Club offers the opportunity to its members to learn and perform traditional dances.

The members of the Modern Dance Club enjoy learning from professionals how to dance to modern tunes. The Junior and Senior Science Clubs enhance the students' scientific analytical thinking and enquiry through exciting science trips.

The Adventure Club adds fun to our students' life through a variety of activities ranging from lectures, diving, hiking, and survival skills. The Scuba Diving Club gives students a better theoretical understanding of scuba diving with special emphasis on safety and the proper procedures of being a good scuba diver.

Being a member of the Drama Club and taking part in the School theatrical productions has a positive impact on one's social, physical and cognitive development as a student. Participating in the drama productions raises the students' appreciation for the art form, which is highly important considering that we live in a generation which needs to be raised to understand, value and support the role of art in society. The Debating Club gives the students the chance to discuss different issues, express themselves in public and improve their self confidence. The European Workshops enhance awareness among European countries and contribute to the activities of the Comenius project.
