On Thursday, 21st December, the GCS Play-Act Club staged “An Old Man and a Sea”, an emotionally stirring play written by GCS teacher Maria Chrysanthou, conveying numerous meaningful messages. Inspired by Ernest Hemingway’s The Old Man and the Sea, the play tells the story of an old fisherman dreaming of catching a big fish. He sits alone on a shore and tells his story of what his land was and what it has become. And as he does, the stories of other people living on the forgotten strip of land come alive. Well done to all the students for their impressive and touching performance as well as to their three teachers Ms Maria Chrysanthou, Mrs Frangesca Pieri and Mr Constantinos Savva.
