Andreas Leonidou of Form 6, under the guidance of the School  Vice Principal Mrs Despo Polydorou, organised the first GCS Chess Tournament. A total of 35 students from all Forms competed for the 1st prize of €100. After almost 3 hours of fierce mind-battles on the chess boards and an impressive final between a 1st former and a 7th former, the final medallists of the tournament were:

1st place: Nicolas Christodoulou (Form 1)

2nd place: George Antonaras (Form 7)

3rd place: Hercules Danos (Form 5)

Congratulations to the medalists and thanks to everyone for participating. Special thanks to: Nicolas Papadamou (Form 6), Pavlos Melas (Form 6), Marcos Phinikarides (Form 6), Michalis Vassiliou (Form 6), George Alexandrou (Form 6), Panayiotis Aristotelous (Form 6), Andreas Shiannios (Teacher) and to anyone else who contributed either in the preparation or the execution of the event.
