This year we have seen more than 24 G C School offers from IMPERIAL, LSE & UCL
The following students chose the high level of academic excellence offered at three of London’s leading academic institutions despite the discouraging reputation that London universities have for high living costs:
Melanie Charalambidou, Marios Charilaou, Andreas David, Mikaella Demetriou, Demetris Eleftheriou, Constantinos Gregoriades, Marios Koliadris, Giannis Konstantinou, Glafkos Kronides, Nicolina Metaxa, Nadina Miltiadou, Philippos Papafilippou, George Paschalides, Leto Patsalidou, Christos Petrou, Stylianos Petrou, Kyriacos Rouvas, Andreas Samoutis, Christina Serghides, and Lefteris Stylianou.
The biggest difference in the cost of living in London compared to the rest of the UK is in rent. Moreover, current UK student visa requirements stipulate that students must have at least £1,015 in their bank account for each month they plan to stay in the UK outside of London. This works out as £12,180 per year. If students wish to study in London, they are advised to budget considerably more- at least £1,265 per month, the equivalent of £15,180 a year.
Nevertheless, by studying in London these students are investing in their future and will:
- Gain an internationally recognised qualification
- Gain valuable work experience
- Study in a city with links to global companies
- Live in the world’s most culturally diverse city
- Create an international network of friends
We wish them all the best of luck with their university studies and look forward to hearing about all of their future successes.
