The Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics Departments represented our school for the first time at this year’s Researcher’s Night which took place on Thursday and Friday 27th and 28th of September 2018 in Limassol. The Researcher’s Night is an event organised by the Research Promotion Foundation for the last 12 years and is funded by the European Commission under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions.
Under the umbrella of ‘The magic of Science’, G C School students performed three different experimental procedures in Chemistry, including Elephant toothpaste, States of Vanadium, Metals in Water and one in Biology where the younger audience had the opportunity to create the DNA structure. We also had a presentation of posters in mathematics where our students collected data from the visitors to prove their theorems.
It was a successful event that both students and visitors enjoyed and we look forward to participating again in the future!
