Each GCS student is assessed through tests, quizzes, homework/classwork assignments and projects, and final examinations. Marks are entered in the School electronic system and then posted on the Parents’ Portal. At the end of each Term a School Report is printed and given to each student on Parents Day. The end-of-term Report includes Subject Grades and a Term Assessment Grade.
The Overall Assessment Grade and the Subject Year Performance Grades appear on the Report at the end of the academic year. These grades are calculated electronically through a credit points system, where weights are given to subjects according to importance and periods taught. Each student’s diligence and level of performance are also evaluated by the subject teachers. The “Effort” assessment mark for each subject appears on the student’s Report as well.
