Involvement in extra-curricular activities is a vital component of a well-rounded education. The School offers 35 afternoon Clubs, the major objective of which is enjoyment and the development of each student’s personality and leadership skills. The GCS Clubs focus on aspects like personal interests, career interests, community service and entertainment. Students applying for university admission should consider themselves ‘privileged’ if they can include evidence of substantial and significant involvement in School Clubs in their Personal Statement.

Additionally, many universities appreciate applicants’ extracurricular involvement or skills related to their subject of study. It is for this reason that various School Departments run their own Clubs such as the Maths Club, the Science Club, the Greek Research, the Art & Design Club, the Current Affairs Club and the Debate Club. These Clubs encourage knowledge beyond the material taught in class and initiate critical and independent thought.
